Come Ride With Us ... To the 2009 Great Oregon Steam-Up!
The Great Oregon Steam-Up is held at the Electric Train Museum and Western Antique Powerland Museum - about 1.5 hour drive via backroads. Please note there is an $8.00 admission fee to attend the Steam-Up.
Powerland was originally established by a group of enthusiasts dedicated to the preservation, restoration and demonstration of steam powered equipment, antique farm machinery and implements. Included are activities related to blacksmithing, fire apparatus, electric railroads, miniature railroading, Caterpillar equipment, antique cars and motorcycles, early day trucks, large steam engines, steam operated cranes, model railroading and local history.
This ride is targeted to have maximum speeds of 45 MPH, but maps will be provided so that those who choose to make a little faster run can do so. Our ride will disband a Max's Fano Creek Brew Pub in Tigard.
The ride is open to all scooters and motorcycles, members and non-OSC members. Here is what you need to do to participate:
1. Watch the group riding video for tips on an enjoyable ride.
2. Review the hand signal sheet so that we can coordinate our ride.
3. Learn the route by studying the ride map.
4. Meet up at Holman’s restaurant. Kickstands are up at noon with a ride briefing at 11:45 AM.
5. Do a safety check on your scooter and arrive at your meet up location with a full tank of gas (A gas station is at 21st and Burnside, just 7 blocks from Holmans). Here is a suggested Pre_Ride_check_list.pdf.
6. Be at your bike with all gear on except your helmet 15 mins before departure for a ride briefing.
7. Plan on having fun!
