On August 15, 2009 we had an OSC Valley Meet and Greet, at Boones Treasury, 888 Liberty Rd NE in Salem. The weather was beautiful, and we had our meeting out on the patio. They have inside accomodations as well, but the patio was beautiful. They even have standing fireplaces that they light in the evening!
Eleven were in attendance, including four officers and two spouses. Four members traveled down from the Portland area, and 5 members were from the Valley chapter. We talked alot about the Raid, and what a success it was, and how everyone enjoyed each other's company. We talked about the Mary's Peak ride, which has been changed from an overnight trip to a single day trip. We also talked about possible ride ideas and events.
Some questions were brought up about some new potential sponsors in the Salem and Albany area. Steve Castle is the man you want if you have a potential sponsor in your area.
All in all, I was happy to see that so many members were able to attend. And I had three members from the OSC Valley chapter contact me to let me know that they already had prior commitments, but they planned on attending one of the upcoming rides.
This leads me to believe that our membership is still growing. And having more participation from the Valley chapter is a plus!
