Oregon Scooter Club - Come Ride With Us !
What a contrast from the 2009 Mt. St. Helens ride! The weather was perfect this year. 9 scooters with 10 riders met up at one of our new meeting places, the Overlook Restaurant in Portland. There was a beautiful layer of fog on the Willamette as we crossed the St. John's bridge, turning out Hwy. 30 as we heading for Longview and ultimately Mt. St. Helens. By the time we reached Scappoose the fog had lifted and it was clear weather for the remainder of the day.

The ride fleet consisted of 13 scooters and included 4 smaller scooters. There were 3 Vespa 150s and a Yamaha 200. Powered by a breakfast at the Bomber Restaurant the group headed out for Swan Island Dahlias. The sky was a little overcast, but it was warm enough for riding.
The 3 Vespas were in the pace position, first second and third spaces behind the ride leader. Top speed for the ride was 45 MPH and much of the ride was conducted at 40 MPH to accommodate the smaller…
