Visit the four peaks of greater Portland: west hills, Rocky Butte, Mt. Scott, Bull Mountain.
Bad weather? This might turn into something of a "two peaks" ride.
Rick can help plan the route, but we need a volunteer to lead this one.
To ride without an endorsement, your ride must be classed as a moped. Generally not capable of speeds >30 mph not capable of riding a passenger. That breaks down to a 50cc scooter (some would argue 150). Get the Oregon Drivers Manual for the specifi…
I'm glad that you were able to make it on Monday, especially on such short notice. Just a small part of what we do, and I'm glad you were able to go 'scouting' with us.
Is anyone interested in an impromptu ride for tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 6, 2009?
If they are, Kathy and I are going to meet at the Dairy Queen on 25th and Mission St. We are going to leave at 11:00, and take some back roads around Turner, Aumsville, Stayton, Lyons, and gates. We will be scouting out a ride for later this month.
If you have plans for Labor Day, or this is too short of a notice, don't even worry about it. We came up with a plan at the last minute, and thought that if anyone else would like to come, that would be fine with us.
No need to reply, just meet at the Dairy Queen at 11:00 with gas tanks full. And hopefully the weather will be kind to us.
Happy Labor Day, and maybe we'll see you there!

I love my SYM RV250. I had a SYM HD200 for about 3 weeks, and then I traded up to the 250 ( the 250 was not on the floor when we were shopping).
I had someone lower my seat by a couple of inches, as I am 5'2", and I had a hard time reaching the ground with my short legs, and now I can touch with an almost flat foot.
I have had my 250 for almost one year, and have had only 2 small problems with my scoot. Both were covered under warranty. I like that!
I have not ridden any other scooters, so for me it is hard to compare. But I have about 7000 miles on it, I am getting around 70mpg, I've had it up to 80mph (GPS) on the freeway), and I love the way it handles.
My husband has jokingly asked me what I will ride after my SYM gets old. I told him I would have the SYM fixed, or buy another ''.
I really like the SYM brand, and Scoters of Oregon in Salem really went out of their way for me., And on one of the forums, there was a former auto mechanic, and he raved about the quality and workmanship that had gone into his SYM.
We have a new chapter called Oregon Scooter Club Valley Chapter, which is the Willamette Valley area part of the Portland area chapter. As a member, you are eligible to ride with either group. The OSC Valley Chapter is brand new, and we are just now starting to have meetings and plan rides and events. We are having a lot of fun!
We hope to meet you at one of our events. Please check the Events tab to see what is going on. Our next scheduled event is August 15th, at Boones Treasury in Salem. We hope to see you there!
