"Sounds like a wonderful ride/adventure Bob. The Helix should be fairly comfortable on this one but in my book you are a "Iron Butt" candidate. I like the way you have varied the venue and focus of your trip . Should be a good one. Be…"

"A clarification on our 300 mile per day average on P to P. We avoided INTERSTATE FREEWAYS, not highways. We took roads like highway 26 and 20"

"300 miles in 6.5 hrs...OFF HIGHWAY ???  im still skeptical !  on the Highway its a no brainer, but side roads, traffic, curves, stop lights....I cant see it happening as an AVERAGE."

"Great trip! I can't wait until I am in a position (retired) and can freely take such trips. The 300 miles per day is quite doable. That is about what we averaged on the P to P ride."

"wow...sounds like a cool trip ! HOWEVER, im a bit skeptical about doing 300 miles in 6.5 hours DAILY without being on the Interstate....I see closer to 200 and that comes from just what I experience going on our club rides...."

Planning Another Ride.

On June 1st I'll be flying to North Carolina to start a ride on a 1994 Honda Helix I bought there in January. I'll be riding southwest to Baton Rouge to visit my daughter, then north, all the way to Grand Marais Minnesota, stopping in with friends and relatives all the way. I'll be shipping my camping gear to Grand Marais before I leave Oregon. When I arrive in Grand Marais, I'll decide either to leave the scooter there and fly home or to ride and camp across Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana,…See More

Hey Bob,

I see that you are thinking about coming up for the OSC Party this Saturday.  If you need a place to stay Saturday or Friday (or both) our place is open to you.  There is room for a guest too.

Bob,

Just wanted to let you know that I got home OK, and it was a pleasure to ride with you. I hope you reached your destination safely. I hope I didn't follow you too closely at times, as I am still learning how to use that throttle lock.

FYI - Our pictures at Smith Rock and Crooked River Bridge paid off. I reached my 10X10 Challenge!!! Those totalled #10 for me!!! If you would like to ride to any more 10X10 Challenge spots, let me know. I would be happy to ride with you :)

Is 65 to 70 reasonible? I was thinking Grand Vista or SYM. These are a little lighter.

Also considering repairing the Burgie. It depends on what the repairs will cost.

Bob,

I forgot that you had proposed Alsea as the meet up point. Are you familiar with Alsea (I'm not)? Do you know of a good meet up point (like maybe a gas station)?

Thanks for your help.
