Oregon Scooter Raid 10 FAQ
What is “Raid”?
The full name is “Oregon Scooter Raid.” Raid is an OSC tradition that is a two-night campout for all OSC members and their guest. The 2012 Raid will be the 10th year for Raid.
Where will Raid be held?
Raid 10 will be held on the private property of OSC members Peggy VanWinkle and Jim Patereau, 13153 Airfield Ln, Culver, OR. Click here for maps to Raid.
Do I need to RSVP for Raid?
Yes. Raid is being held in a gated community and an RSVP will speed your entry.
When can I arrive at Raid?
You are welcome to arrive at Raid any time on Friday, August 3, 2012.
Will there be group rides to Raid?
Yes. group rides are planed from Portland at both mid-day and 5:30 PM. There will be a group ride from Salem as well. Details will be posted soon.
May I bring my motor home or tent trailer to Raid?
Yes.
Is there mobile phone Service at Raid?
Yes, mobile phones work.
How much does it cost to attend Raid?
Raid is included in your dues for OSC members. Guest are asked to contribute $20.00 to cover food.
What are the restroom/shower faculties at Raid?
There are both indoor restrooms and outhouses. Showers are available in Peggy and Jim’s house.
What dining arrangements at Raid?
All meals are provided, Friday night dinner through Sunday morning breakfast.
I have special dietary needs. What cooking facilities are available at Raid?
Full cooking facilities are available.
What is the entertainment at Raid?
-Rides on both Saturday and Sunday. Click here for ride information.
-Onsite Hot Tub
-Tubing behind a power boat
-Swimming
-Evening campfire (sorry, it will be propane, open fires are not allowed)
What beverages are provided?
Water, Gatorade, and juice with breakfast. For guest over age 21, beer, but only after all riding is done. Operation of a motor vehicle under the effects of alcohol, regardless of who supplies the alcohol, will not be tolerated.
Will there be organized scooter rides during Raid?
Yes, there will be both guided and self guided rides offered. Click here for ride information.
Is smoking permitted at Raid?
Yes, but we ask that you not walk around with lighted smoking materials and that ashes be knocked into water. Also, keep a buck of water handy.
