I've been trying my hardest to be careful on the wet slippery mess that the leaves have become, but it happened. While turning a corner off NW 23rd, the back end of the scooter came around. I thought I was just going to low side, but then it caught good pavement and then it high sided. I wasn't going fast, so I just slid about 10 feet or so. Just a few bruises on my shins, but the whole left side of the scooter is completely scratched. Grrrrrrrrr.
Blake - Thanks for this caution. I know the dangers of wet leaves too. About a month ago I went down at 2 MPH when my rear tire came around on a stop. A few scratches to my helix and a sore knee is all I earned. The knee is okay, but the scratches are there to remind me to be careful. It can happen to anyone.
BUMMER!! Hate to see that happen to a perfectly good Burgman. Seriously though, thanks for posting this. Just when I think a bad thing won’t happen to me…someone who I know is a skilled and safe rider gets bit. Makes me realize it can happen to anyone, even me.
Thankfully it sounds like your going to be ok…what are you going to do about the scooter?
