The club needs a Twitter feed

A club Twitter would make quick communication between all members easy and instant. I have a twitter for my own page. For me personally it is of limited use. For the club however it would be great for pickup rides, last minutes informational broadcasts and reminders. For those who have never used twitter, you simply send a text message to the OSC twitter account (I'd be happy to volunteer to set it up), and all those who subscribe will receive that text message automatically (standard messaging rates apply). The club should also set up an RSS feed on the home page to show the twitter stream. It is so easy even I got it to work. Please check my member page at the lower left to see what it would look like. It takes up very little real estate on my page. Comments anyone?

Arjen,

Two other members have mentioned that we need a Twitter acount. As long as it does not cost the club anything, let's go ahead and set one up. I'll open up my own account in the next day or two.

Once it is open, let me know and we can set up the feed on the OSC page. We will review in 60 days and see if it was a good idea and want to continue the account.

I am well versed in ning networks. Karen and I manage a number of them. On the home page you simply have to add an RSS box. Then take the twitter address and point the RSS box at it. I'd be happy to help whoever has to make this work. As you can see from my own page, I have it working on the OSC website already.
