Oregon Scooter Club

Oregon Scooter Club -Come Ride With Us

Got my Piaggio MP3, 400cc model around 1pm, rode to work... WOW!

I love it, that thing handles so well, I felt like I could ride anything. Felt like I could take the corners much faster, thought why didn't we just ride the freeway, etc...

The bike is a real confidence inspring bike for sure... will need to keep myself in check to not ride beyond my ability.

Dad was navigating in the 4runner, leading, GPS told him a "shortcut" which took us accross a couple miles of gravel road, bike handled fine, but it got it a little dirty, hopefully no dings, rode it around 20mph or slower.

Also 3 RR crossing as I got close to work, which I'll be crossing daily on my ride home, super easy... but then again I've crossed all 3 on a bicycle, and knew they'd be easy on something with not only wider, but one extra tire.

Can't wait to get off work and ride some more, and can't wait to get together with the club for a group ride...

Deffinately need some rides to get my back used to riding without a backrest, but otherwise no real issues...

William,

Congrats on getting your scoot home! I'm glad everything turned out well, including the gravel road (yuck!).

Now when you ride to work you'll get more familiar with the controls, and the way that the scoot handles. It will be great experience. Soon we will be having more rides in the Mid Willamette Valley chapter, and that should help also.

I don't know if you've checked out the Oregon Raid ride, but we will be traveling from Salem Harley as a group out to the campgrounds near Canby. It should be alot of fun if you can make it. This will be my 1st Raid, and I am excited!

Safe riding, and hope to hear from you soon.

William,

I am so glad you like your new MP3. We have 2 other MP3s in the OSC. We look forward to seeing you at some club events soon.

Be safe -- Let your riding skills grow with time. Don’t over do it.

William,

You picked out a great ride. Congratulations! We hope to see you at many OSC rides and events. BTW, As Melody said , the "Scooter Raid" event is one of our main events each year. It would be great if you could join us.... check it out under the events tab.

Take it easy this summer to learn the feel of how you and your scoot react to different riding situations. Most of all have fun.

Thanks all, I'm tentatively planning to possibly attend at least part of the Scooter Raid... Prior to this whole scooter thing, I previously commited to helping with communitcations at a bicycle ride event near my house on Sunday, so I'm considering comming over for Friday Night/Saturday, or just for the day Saturday, and home, so I can still help with the event as planned.

Went for a ride with a guy from the local bike gear supply shop after work, had fun... deffinately a little slow in the corners since I'm not used to the "lean" quite yet, but still able to take them at what seemed to me to be good speeds, nice and safe anyways :)

The scooter has been cristened with bugs anyways :)

Looking forward to meeting some folks sometime soon...
