Bikefest 2009 at Seaside!

Hey - Anyone up for riding out to Seaside's annual Bikefest??? Represent the OSC!!! It's july 17-18. Any ideas for a good pre-ride meeting place? Traffic should be slow up 26, so smaller cc bikes might make it okay. Bumper cars & lots of fun stuff in Seaside. Weather seems to beholding up. Let's go!

Yeah, Saturday would be the day I'd go. Hwy 26 will be packed fer sure. I went to Seaside during the car show they had last year, lot of fun watching them cruise around the loop. Al

I've taken a look at the back roads into Seaside. There is nothing that one can call “direct” so the choice is a round about loop or Hwy 26 for a good part of the ride.

Here is an idea for the ride. We take back roads out, about 3 hours of riding covering 120 miles, and jet home on Hwy 26 in 90 minutes for the 75 mile ride. If we left Portland at 10:00 AM we would be in Seaside at 1:00 PM, spend a couple of hours there and head for home around 4 PM-ish. We would be back no later than 6 PM. Here is a proposed ride map. I am open to other ideas, but would rather avoid doing Hwy 26 each direction.

As for me I’ll only be going if the weather looks favorable, so I will not be posting this as a formal OSC Ride as we only cancel for adverse weather in the most extreme situations. Gator’s would probably be a good meet up location. Let me know what you think.
