Oregon Scooter Club - Come Ride With Us !
These look to be a nice tire with better side grip and longer life; link below. Anyone else tried them? I ordered a set for the front (I need two...) and should be able to get mounted in a week or two.
Michelin - Pilot Power Pure SC Front Tire
In a separate question, where do you get your scooter tires mounted? I had my new rear tire mounted last year at Portland Motorcycle (by airport) and they did a good job, but maybe there's somewhere closer to Clackamas?

Permalink Reply by Roy Firestone on March 22, 2012 at 8:01pm Well the new front tires came in today, and have a great date of 4111, so relatively new. They sure are sticky - very soft to the touch, no distinction between center band and sides although they are apparently composed of two different rubber compounds. The advertising says they will last longer too. My existing Michelin Gold Standard fronts have plenty of tread left but are simply too old too trust any longer since they are showing age cracks.
The rear is a new MGS tire put on at the end of last season. The original MGS made it 5800 miles before it was too slick to trust.
Not sure when I will find time to make a device to hold the front up and on center while I remove both wheels. This is where I start waffling on the value of two front tires...
I was going to use Beaverton MC given the sponsorship and advice here, and that now looks like a given since I just read Portland MC is closed (sorry to hear that).

Permalink Reply by Roy Firestone on March 22, 2012 at 7:52pm Whoa, I did not know that. Drove by on the way to and from the airport the other day but paid little attention. Thanks for advising.
Permalink Reply by Scott Buboltz on March 22, 2012 at 5:29pm Still, I'm thinking that I might be needing some new shoes soon. I was thinking that I was going to use Pirelli Diablo's. I would like some tire feedback. I guess that the only place near me to get tires mounted is Pro Caliber. Not real excited about that...
