Come Ride With Us... To The Rice Mineral Museum
The Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals is located in Hillsboro, Oregon, about 20 minutes west of downtown Portland. The Rice NW Museum is home to the "Alma Rose" Rhodochrosite from the Sweet Home Mine in Alma, Colorado. The museum also boasts the largest opal-filled thunderegg in the world, crystallized gold bigger than your hand, dinosaur eggs and fossils, an extensive meteorite collection, and hundreds of other attractions. The Rice Museum has become nationally recognized. It is the finest rocks and minerals museum in the Pacific Northwest, and one of the best in the nation. The admission fee is $7.00.
The ride is open to all scooters and motorcycles, OSC members and non-members. If cold weather riding is not your thing, or family members want to participate, feel free to join us in an car. The meet up is at 11:00 AM and kickstands are up at noon.
Here is what you need to do to participate:
1. Watch the group riding video for tips on an enjoyable ride.
2. Review the hand signal sheet so that we can coordinate our ride.
3. Learn the route by studying the ride map whic will be posted a few weeks before the ride.
4. Do a safety check on your scooter and arrive at your meet up location with a full tank of gas (A gas station is at 21st and Burnside, just 7 blocks West of Holmans). Here is a suggested check list.
5. Be at your bike with all gear on except your helmet 15 mins before departure for a ride briefing.
6. Plan on having fun!
