McKenzie Highway over McKenzie Pass to Sisters

Meet up at Salem Harley-Davidson//Vespa [3601 Silverton Rd. NE, Salem, Or.] Date; Saturday August 29, 2009
Times; Salem meet up________0930 Hrs.
Wheels turning ________1030 Hrs.
Portland will meet up at__0900 Hrs.
Eugene/Springfield area rides meet-up time 1200 Hrs. at the AM-PM at 42nt and E. Main St. Springfield.

This ride is over the 5325ft high McKenzie Pass; with a stop at the Dee Wright Observatory[have your CAMERA for this].
The ride will involve about 30 miles of freeway [The freeway ride will be from Market St. NE and I-5(MP 256) to I-5(MP 228) HWY 34]. The ride over the Pass is steep 6%+ twisting 24ft roads. This ride is not recommended for novice riders. To participate your scooter should be capable of cruising comfortably at 55MPH.+ Bring drinking water and snacks. We will make a lunch stop so bring a sack lunch or lunch $ money.

Where will we be stopping for lunch? And what will be available for purchase? That info would help me decide whether to bring a lunch or buy there.
