Come Ride With Us...to the Cathlapotle Plankhouse
Two hundred years ago Cathlapotle village was one of the largest Chinookan villages encountered by Lewis and Clark. Today it is part of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Reffuge. In July 2012 it is the featured destination of an OSC ride.
Join us as we visit the replica Cathlapotle plankhouse which was built based on findings from the archaeological site as well as additional sources of information. You can see how the Chinookan people lived on the river long before Lewis and Clark first observed Cathlapotle in 1805.
Check this page 24 hours before the ride for any route or weather driven updates.
This ride will be at a touring pace. Check out the Ride Ticket and ride map (in four formats) for all the details.

The ride is open to all scooters and motorcycles, OSC members and non-members. If you won’t be riding that day, or family/friends want to participate, feel free to join us in a car.
This event has three 10 On The Road points. There are three total points available today's breakfast and ride.

Comment by Rick Fletcher on July 3, 2012 at 10:15pm To bad I pulled up lame, sounds like it was a great ride. Breakfast was great.
Comment by Ernie Goble on July 3, 2012 at 9:29pm Aww, shucks! Thanks for the compliment Steve. ( We won't mention the turn I almost missed) ;-) Gotta love that GPS tho. It was a fun ride, absolutely.
Comment by Roger Lee on July 3, 2012 at 8:13am Thanks Melody, I really enjoyed the ride. Especially the rest stops and conversation along small country roads with beautiful forests in the background. This ride was really about the journey and McMenamins was a great ending. Sorry I will miss Raid. Hope you all have a great time.
Comment by Peggy Van Winkle on July 2, 2012 at 6:40pm Thank you Melody, it was a great ride. James did earn some bonus points that day.
Looking forward to Raid.
Comment by Melody Anderson on July 2, 2012 at 5:36pm Darn. I sure would have liked to see the inside. But I enjoyed the ride, even with the scenic detour. James would like to have bonus OTR points for the day, and he definitely earned them! I got a chance to work on my ride leader skills, and I still have more to learn. But the reward was the friends and good food at Mcmenamins on the Columbia!
Comment by Ernie Goble on July 2, 2012 at 7:07am The plankhouse website said it was open from 12 to 4PM on Sunday. We must have just missed it. Would like to have seen the inside. Maybe next time.
Comment by James Shelton on July 2, 2012 at 5:28am Nice ride today. James gets the "tough guy" award for the trip! Absolutely beautiful post-ride food and drink overlooking the Columbia river. See you next time...
Comment by James Shelton on July 1, 2012 at 8:24pm I rode the ride and believe I earned my 3 pts.!
