Come Ride Wtih Us... To Dougan Falls
Dougan Falls is the final major waterfall along the Washougal River (not counting 8-foot tall Salmon Falls). The falls occur where the river widens to over 100 feet and crashes 19 feet sideways into a narrow trough. The falls are easily seen from multiple roadside vistas. Below the falls is a deep blue pool, ideal for swimming on a hot summer day. Picnic tables and pit toilets are provided in the day use area on the far side of the bridge. If we are lucky, we may see kayakers running the falls. We will wrap up our ride at the Lauralwood Public House on Sandy Blvd.
The ride is open to all scooters and motorcycles, OSC members and non-members. Portions of this ride will be on Washington Hwy 14. This is a 55 MPH highway with a lot of heavy truck traffic. Please make sure your scooter and you are up to the trip. Here is what you need to do to participate:
1. Watch the group riding video for tips on an enjoyable ride.
2. Review the hand signal sheet so that we can coordinate our ride.
3. Learn the route by studying the ride map.
4. Do a safety check on your scooter and arrive at your meet up location with a full tank of gas (A gas station is at 21st and Burnside, just 7 blocks West of Holmans). Here is a suggested .Pre_Ride_check_list.pdf
5. Be at your bike with all gear on except your helmet 15 mins before departure for a ride briefing.
6. Plan on having fun!
